AudioLock v1.3.2 · android 14+

One output for everything.

Android decides where your audio goes. AudioLock overrules it: pick a Bluetooth device — a motorcycle headset, a pair of hearing aids — and it stays the output for media, notifications and calls, for as long as it's connected.

Three states, one glance

Waiting

Watching for the device to connect.

Connected

Device is here, but audio is drifting elsewhere.

Locked on

Everything routes to your device.

The same three icons appear in a one-tap home-screen widget, a Quick Settings tile and an Android Auto screen on the car display. The guard's notification carries a Re-assert now button for the moment audio ends up somewhere it shouldn't be.

How it holds the lock

A guard, not a setting

The moment your device connects, a route guard starts watching every audio profile — classic headsets, ASHA hearing aids, LE Audio — and it stands down only when the device is truly gone.

Drift correction

It checks where audio is actually playing, not where Android claims. If media slips back to the phone speaker, it pulls the route home and logs exactly what happened.

Calls too

Phone and VoIP calls get steered to the headset the moment a call goes live, and released the moment it ends.

Comes back on its own

A companion-device association means Android itself wakes AudioLock when your device reappears — after a ride, a reboot, or a night in the charging case.

On the car screen

An Android Auto view puts the lock status on the head unit, with the per-device toggles and a re-assert button right there, so there's no reaching for the phone at 60 mph.

Easy on batteries

The hold-the-route stream pauses after ten idle minutes with the screen off and resumes the moment anything plays. Options are remembered per device, because a helmet headset and a pair of hearing aids want different things.

Like everything here, AudioLock is built for myself first, which keeps it honest: no account, no ads, no tracking, no store listing. It exists because a motorcycle helmet and a pair of hearing aids both deserve better than Android's routing whims.
